FFL Transfers in Amherst, Ohio
Have a firearm shipped to Amherst Arms for pickup. We handle the required paperwork and background-check process at our licensed Amherst, Ohio store.
Current transfer fees
Standard transfer
$30 per firearm
For a firearm purchased from another dealer or an eligible private seller and shipped to Amherst Arms.
GunBroker purchase
$35 per firearm
Includes the $5 receiving-dealer surcharge GunBroker bills when Amherst Arms is selected.
NFA transfer
$50 per item
For eligible NFA items such as suppressors and short-barreled rifles. Federal approval and additional requirements apply.
How pickup works
- Provide the seller with our FFL. Download the copy above and give the seller or shipping dealer the information they request.
- The firearm is shipped to Amherst Arms. The sender is responsible for following applicable law and the carrier’s current firearm-shipping policy.
- Wait for our call. Tracking may show delivered before the firearm has been received into our records. We will call when it is ready for pickup.
- Visit with valid identification. Bring a valid government-issued Ohio photo ID showing your current residence and complete the required paperwork.
- Complete the transfer. Release of the firearm depends on the required background-check response and all applicable federal and Ohio requirements.

You do not need to notify us before a standard firearm is shipped. Please wait for Amherst Arms to call before coming in. If your identification does not show your current address or you have an unusual transfer situation, call first.
